Submission of papers
Journal Crimen is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of ethical behavior in academic publishing. We expect all authors, reviewers, and editorial board members to adhere to the following principles:
Integrity and Honesty:
Research must be conducted and reported truthfully. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their work, avoiding any practices of fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism. Any fraudulent reporting will not be tolerated.
Authorship Criteria:
In line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, authorship should be based on the following criteria:
- Substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
- Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for significant intellectual content.
- Final approval of the version to be published, ensuring that it is accurate and complete.
- Accountability for all aspects of the work, including the resolution of any questions regarding the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work.
Authors must agree on the order of authorship before submission and provide a collective statement confirming their contributions.
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest:
Authors are required to disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that may influence their work. This includes funding sources, consultancy roles, or any potential conflicts that could affect the research outcomes.
Reviewers and editors must also declare any conflicts of interest that may affect their judgment in the peer-review process.
Ethical Research Practices:
Research involving human participants must comply with ethical standards set by relevant institutional review boards (IRBs) or ethics committees. Authors should provide documentation of ethical approval and ensure informed consent is obtained from participants.
Research involving animals must adhere to applicable guidelines that promote humane treatment and care. Authors should detail their compliance with these ethical standards.
Respect for Privacy:
Authors must maintain the confidentiality of research participants. Identifying information should not be disclosed without explicit consent. All personal data must be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
Plagiarism:
The journal employs plagiarism detection software to ensure originality. All authors must properly attribute sources and seek permission for any third-party materials used. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
Reporting Misconduct:
All participants in the publication process have an ethical obligation to report any suspected misconduct. This includes breaches of publication ethics or research integrity. The journal will investigate all allegations promptly and thoroughly.
Post-Publication Ethics:
Authors have a responsibility to correct any errors or inaccuracies found in their published work. If significant errors are identified, authors must notify the journal promptly so that corrections or retractions can be issued in a timely manner.
